In this third chapter of the on-line book \u2018SAIL HANDLING AND TRIMING\u2019 we will look at this balance of forces in a sailboat from three points of view, all of which are important.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The first balance affects the aerodynamic forces that are generated in the sails and the hydrodynamic forces that are produced under the water.
