GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS<\/span><\/h2>\n

This is a 32-foot sailboat (FIRST-32) with a 30-hp NANNI engine.<\/span><\/p>\n

The boat has two batteries, one for starting the engine and the other for powering the boat’s utilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

BATTERY CHARGING EQUIPMENT<\/span><\/h2>\n

The boat has the following equipment for charging the batteries:<\/span><\/p>\n

– Alternator for the boat’s engine.<\/span><\/p>\n

– 2 solar panels.<\/span><\/p>\n

– A 230V AC \/ 12V DC charger for connection to the dock’s power outlet.<\/span><\/p>\n

BATTERY CHARGE CONTROL EQUIPMENT<\/span><\/h2>\n

– Charge regulator on the engine alternator.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Charge regulator on the 230V\/12V charger.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Charge regulator on the solar panel output.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Diode load isolator to separate the battery charge.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Victron-702 monitor, with the following functions:<\/span><\/p>\n

* Service battery: monitoring charge and discharge current, voltage, power consumption, and remaining power.<\/span><\/p>\n

* Engine battery: monitoring battery voltage.<\/span><\/p>\n
