\u201cSailing for Prosperity\u201d is a social and environmental initiative born from the union of a passion for sailing with a commitment to protecting the beauty and marine ecosystem of the Sea of \u200b\u200bCort\u00e9s, as well as restoring the connection between the sea and the communities that inhabit its shores.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSailing for Prosperity\u201d offers the opportunity to learn about and participate in projects whose primary objective is the prosperity and conservation of ecosystems in the Sea of \u200b\u200bCort\u00e9s region, through sailing voyages and scientific expeditions aboard two iconic sailboats, the \u201cSayula II\u201d and the \u201cSY Diablesse.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Through science, \u201cSailing for Prosperity\u201d will participate in and support current and future projects within the Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) of the Sea of \u200b\u200bCort\u00e9s. Furthermore, through sailing, expeditions, and other activities, \u201cSailing for Prosperity\u201d will promote this sport and its traditional values \u200b\u200bwithin local communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSailing for Prosperity\u201d was founded in 2025 by Crist\u00f3bal Gonz\u00e1lez-Aller Pita and \u201cCapitales Orinoco.\u201d While its roots are in the Sea of \u200b\u200bCort\u00e9s, its vision extends to other, more distant regions. In the coming years, starting with the Pacific Ocean, the goal is to continue developing a network of regenerative action, storytelling, and solidarity.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The \u201cSayula II\u201d is an iconic ketch-type sailboat, nearly 20 meters in length, a true symbol of Mexico’s maritime history. With Ram\u00f3n Carl\u00edn as skipper and owner, it won the first edition of the Whitbread Round the World Race (now known as the \u201cOcean Race\u201d) in 1973. The \u201cSY Diablesse\u201d is an elegant and classic sloop-type sailboat, approximately 29 meters in length.<\/span><\/p>\n

As an added benefit, promoting the activities of \u201cSailing for Prosperity\u201d both nationally and internationally will help raise awareness about the importance of the Sea of \u200b\u200bCort\u00e9s and the state of its ecosystems, with the aim of promoting the development of sustainable economic models.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, the APM (Maritime Prosperity Area) Project aims to foster community engagement and co-design sustainable marine resource management strategies within designated Maritime Prosperity Area (APMs) in the Sea of \u200b\u200bCort\u00e9s (see image above).<\/span><\/p>\n

To this end, the APM project promotes and organizes participatory activities and workshops that allow us to understand and share a common vision of how to effectively protect marine resources.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSailing for Prosperity\u201d, through the expeditions it undertakes aboard the sailboats \u201cSayula II\u201d and \u201cSY Diablesse\u201d, can serve as a platform and space for collaboration, bringing together different key stakeholders with the protected marine areas and their communities. This will involve providing scientific expertise through onboard biologists and experts, and facilitating the joint development of projects and strategies.<\/span><\/p>\n
