Seafood Fideuá

Description / recipe history:

– Fideuá is a seafood dish originating from the coasts of Valencia, and is also typical in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands.

– It seems that this dish was born aboard ships, and that the original author was Gabriel Rodríguez Pastor, a cook who worked aboard the ship “Santa Isabel”. Gabriel substituted the rice for noodles so that the food would be more filling and would be good for the whole crew.

– This new dish, whose preparation is similar to that of paella, gradually spread to other ships and restaurants in the ports.

Ingredients:

– Fish broth, number 2 noodles, cuttlefish or squid, shrimp, clams (or other shellfish such as cockles), onion, green bell pepper, garlic cloves, virgin olive oil and salt.
